What Do You Think? (Question to My Readers): How will Canterbury respond to TEC?

P.S. Where's ol' Winnie when we need him?

I love it! Can't stop laughing. I wanted to put it on my site but wasn't brave enough. ;-)

+++Druid is going to call for restraint from those who would cause "schism" by excommunicating ECUSA. But really, what response can he make that matters?

The response of Canterbury matters to those who understand the Anglican Communion to be more than just a federation of autonomous Protestant sects. For the rest, it probably doesn't matter.

I had the apostate ECUSA leadership in mind. What could he do that would matter to them?

Yes, you're right, that seems obvious enough. But there are a lot of conservative and orthodox folk who will be lost, not only to the Episcopal Church, but to Anglicanism as a whole if the right response is not issued from Cantuar.

You're right. I don't expect us or AMiA to pick up many refugees. They'll probably end up at First or Second Baptist (if they're Evangelicals) or the local Catholic Church (if not).

This is a matter that saddens me greatly as a Methodist. And it suggest the challenges that may bode for the future in my own tradition.

Hey, a thought, though..........

If the ECUSA gets excommunicated from the world-wide Anglican communion, maybe some of you guys could suggest that we Methodists "come home." Might be good for us and good for the WWAC. Then we (a much more evangelical and potentially traditionalist kissing-cousin) could become a big Anglican presence in North America.

If the RC and the Lutherans could make nice a few years back, who knows?
Wha'cha think, Dan?

Apparently, the response is going to be "months" of "careful reflection."

Whattaya think about that?

They will do nothing, equivicate, and delay.
